Become a Local Guide for Los Angeles, California
We’re building something bigger than the typical review site. Lava Bug is a place where locals speak up about what really makes their city unique — from food and nightlife to hidden gems, parks, music spots, and everything in between.

This isn’t about star ratings. It’s about real people who know their city best.

Why Join as a Local Guide?

• Share your pride in Los Angeles and highlight what others miss.

• Build visibility as one of the first voices in your community.

• Get paid $5–$75 per article, depending on topic complexity and length.

• Be part of an ongoing project covering every city in the U.S.

What We’re Looking For

Writers with a passion for their city. You don’t need to be a professional critic — just someone who knows the best pizza slice, the bar with the best live band, the trail only locals hike, or the hole-in-the-wall spot tourists never find.

How to Get Started

1. Drop a quick comment below telling us what you’d write about first.

2. Our editors will reach out if we’d like you to expand it into a full guide.

That’s it. No complicated process, no corporate nonsense. Just locals sharing what they know.
